Abdominal Discomfort - Upper Right Quadrant

Hi there,
I had two unprotected sexual encounters last September, within days of each other. Stupid, yes, but in the past, and I've learned my lesson. I tested negative for HIV and Hep B 86 days post exposure. My doctor said these results were conclusive. Relieved, I tried to put it out of my mind. But I've been experiencing upper right quadrant pain and persistent headaches. I went to my PCP over Christmas, who ran an LFT and CBC. Both were fine, my liver wasn't inflamed and my WBC was normal. She said to put hepatitis out of my mind.
But in places I read that 'symptoms may take up to six months to appear'. I suppose the question I'm trying to ask is, does a negative test at the time I had it rule out the possibility of infection?
Many thanks to anyone who answers. I just want to try and put this episode behind me.

Thanks for your comments.
I have really bad gas, probably irritable bowel syndrome, which might be causing the pain. My doc doesn't seem to be worried. The STD expert in the forum says an 86 day test for Hep B is golden so I'll run with that! If all I get after my stupidity is a dodgy bowel I'll be a lucky man.

Thanks again:)

I am no doctor, but sometimes upper right quad. pain can be related to the gall bladder. i recently was in the emergency room with UR quad. pain and the docs did an ultrasound. my pain was acute(sudden) but lasted for hours, couldn't sleep. i know my father had gall bladder problems that weren't so severe or sudden and they went on for some time. he later had it removed. a visit to the doc( gastroenterologist) might help. if it happens again, i would try to remeber what i ate or drank that day to see if that plays any part in it. good luck!

i forgot to add that i may have had hcv(not hbv)for maybe 27 years and i don't think i ever had any side effects from the disease. at least not apparent ones like UR quad pain, (except the one time and it was probably gall bladder related) but everyone is different.

Hopefully you didn't eat any fruitcake of the holidays as it might explain the pain.

Seriously though, the absenegative test results are a good sign.  However, if you are still in doubt then wait and test again in order to put your mind at ease.
