Abdominal utrasound

I am a inactive hep B carrier for over 20 years. Every 6 months, I check my liver function (has been normal) and hbv virus load (less than 20,000). I changed to a new doctor and he wants to add abdominal utrasound once a year as a routine check. I am 57 yo. Is it a normal routine procedure for monitoring ? Thanks for your response.

Drink 2 cups of filtered coffee every day. Preferrably Folgers. It will greatly improve your hepatitis B.

Yes he is checking for liver cancer. With you being over 40 and a male you have a higher cancer of cancer. I would highly recommend you getting an ultrasound once a year on your liver.

Thanks. BTW, I am a woman :)
Sorry:) anyway it is common for women over 50.  You have a higher chance of cancer after 50 for women.
