Good day all,
I am 28 years old male who have been having an uncomfortable journey in my fight for hepatitis B since I got diagnosed 5 years ago. I have mild headache and fever almost all times but it doesn't stop me from regular activities although I do not engage in much strenous activities since I work on my own. Most doctors I complain to would quickly say headache is not a sign of hepatitis B that I need to check other things and that I do not need treatment yet. I always test positive to malaria but in low measure (which is highly prevalent in this part of the world - Nigeria). I started the journey to a local herb last year basically to remain healthy and thought maybe a way to cure if general well being gets better. But hell no, things did not!
Below are my HBV test results.
Hbsag +ve
Hbeag -ve
Hbeab +ve
Hbcab +ve
Principal Lft elevated
21/09/2016 - SGPT 67.8 (all others normal)
09/08/2017 - SGPT 113.3, SGOT 60 (all others normal)

Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) DNA Quantification (Viral load) - COBAS TaqManTest : Quantification of HBV DNA from patient's plasma or serum by standard procedure on COBAS TaqManEquipment : COBAS AmpliPrep and COBAS TaqManLimit of Detection : 20 IU/ml.Conversion : 1 IU is equivalent to 5.82 copies/mlMeasuring Range : 20 -170,000,000 IU/mlSpecificity : 100% with a confidence limit of 99.54%.
Results:HBV DNA Quantification - COBAS TaqMan
Below 20 IU/ml
And the very much scary one
09/08/2017 HBsAg (Confirmation & Quantification) - [Serum]
Cutoff Value 50,656IU/ml < 0.005 reference range
This test is used for the confirmation of the presence of HBsAg by means of specific antibody neutralization in biological samples found to be repeatedly reactive
I have freaked out ever since I got these results but trying to be calm. I read somewhere that tenefovir can help reduces Hbsag qtty before onward peginterferon after 3 to 5 years (or more based on my condition). Can I still do that with my increased alt?
p.s - I have a feeling the alt may be a reaction to the drug but definitely should discontinue that drug. But now what?
