Hepatitis b Test Elfa

Dear all,

I went to medical examination to work in abroad they said i have problem with my blood and they have called me for re test they said they are suspecting i may have Hep B .So before going there for the re test i have done the test in one of the labaroatory it came negative the method used is Hbsag rapid test and the result was negative.

When i showed them they said that these type of tests are not guaranteed so i have went for another test but using another method that is serum Elfa method and that too came negative. 0.00.

Iam waiting for the reply from the medical examination clinic they have said that they are using Abbot some thing .Can you please advise me what shood i do they both test which i have undergone came negative

they are probably retesting with abbott architect, the other obsolete tests cannot detect all hbsag types

Dear stef

Thanks for the reply so does it mean the tests which are rapid and elfa method are not accurate?? but they are strictly claiming that there is no chance that it is Hep b positive as the serum level shows 0.00
