Hi, .magandang araw.!

The doctor ask to have this test and this are the result:

Cobas Taqman HBV test result: 15iu/mL
SGOT(AST)r result: 121 U/L

1.) What is the result mean or the interpretation?

2.) what will be the best treatment and management for this condition?

Hoping for response. Thank you.

if he has fatty liver he must solve that, fatty liver can make same or more damage than hbv

for fatty liver check my post " update on my fatty liver"

he must increase vitamin d serum (vitamin d25oh) to 70-100ng/ml as soon as possible, vit d3 supplements.pills for 5000-10000iu daily and then check serum monthly
puritans and solgar make pills with 5000iu vit d3

he must change diet, lose weight lose weist, bmi less than 24 and weist less than 94cm

it is not important to know if alt due to hbv or fatty liver, the fatty liver must be eliminated....

Thank you stef for the response.

Is it possible that the Hbsag reactive result, increasing sgpt&sgot, are caused by the fatty liver.

One more thing, the HBT-Ultrasound impression was:
-Normal Sized,smooth-contour Liver with fatty Infiltrative changes

so we are confused why the doctor diagnosed him with
Chronic Hepatitis B.

so what is the best thing we can do as of now?

thank you again! Godbless

you need many more tests, those tests alone says nothing

hbsag quantification by abbott architect, result must be in iu/ml.a result of hbsag less than 1000iu/ml or even better less than 500iu/ml can confirm that alt/ast abnorml level are not due to hbv.abnormal alt/ast with low hbsag and low hbvdna are a sign of immune clearance of hbv

hbcab igm to confirm if hbv is cronic

US to check if liver cancer or fatty liver are present and rule out this as a cause of abnormal alt/ast

fibroscan to check if liver is damaged

without the tests above we can say nothing
