I think there should be mandatory testing for HIV/HCV. There are so many people who have a chance of changing their lifestyles if they find out early enough.....for themselves or the other people that could be infected.
A teenage girl's virginity never killed anyone, well maybe,...a teenage boy.
And it is most indeed a slippery slope.
anyone have statistic on how many people have been infected with hep c at the barber?
Remember to throw out your toothbrush what is it every day once a week once a month not sure because you don't want to get re-infected.
I agree..I have been to many hairdressers that arent sterile. When my son was small I watched the hairdresser use a razor directly from him to another customer...kids get sick too!! We never went back there. Its crazy, something should be done about it really.
When I was still detectible I told my barber that if she ever nicked me she would have to autoclave her scissors, not just throw them in that blue stuff. She was always very careful.
If you are UND will you still be able to tranmit the disease to someone else?
Thats a slippery slope you are going down.
End of the day we live in the US because of its freedom and privacy. I don't want govt intruding into our lives with forced testing. Why stop at testing for HCV? Why not have govt test teenage girls for virginity? Where does it stop?
Tests are available to anyone who wants to take it.
LOL...yep, I do that...I buy the 5-10 pack of cheap toothbrushes and throw the one I been using away (once a week) after every shot...my little shot night routine...lol, don't know if it does me any good, but I feel better about it anyway. GEEEEEEEEEESH....can't WAIT to get a REAL toothbrush again!!!!!!!!!!! Them things are horrible...got to pull the bristles out of my teeth some days...HAHAHAHA.
Possibly...I am currently treating for HepC, and about a year ago I was actually cut (a little bleeding) on my ear while getting a hair cut. I told the lady that she needed to throw the scissors away because I had hepatitis...she looked at me like I was crazy, then smiled...I have NO CLUE what she did after I left. (I haven't been back to that place since of course)...but that day quite frequently comes to my mind and I have said prayers that she threw them away so nobody was infected. Gee Whiz I guess the magnitude of this disease is beyond us sometimes. I just hope nobody was infected because of that day.
