Girl insisted on having sex unprotected knowing that I am Hep B positive

Hey everyone,

I have a question and I hope someone can give me an answer. I am a chronic Hepatitis B carrier and I have had an undetectable viral load for the past 4 years but I am still HBsAg positive.

One girl insisted on having unprotected sex even though I told her that I have it and that there is a chance of transmitting it. We carried on to have unprotected sex, it was stupid of me I admit.

What are the chances of her getting Hep B through penetration considering that I am having an undetectable viral load?

I dont think there is any way of assessing the chances. Once you have the virus there is always a chance of transmission. In fact it is well known that the virus is very easily transmitted. However, if she is vaccinated then she should be fine. Best thing to do is have her get tested.

Thank you for the comment. I think she was vaccinated as a child but she doesn't know if she needs a booster. I thought that maybe since I am having an undetectable viral load the chance of transmitting in any way is next to nothing.
