does he have chronic hbv?
if you just touched it with a closed wound i dont think anything can enter your body
never share things like that even if you change the needle
I dont know his hepatitis status, he just gave me the glucometer because he have a new one niw, we are both diabetic, we dont share needles,
When i check the glucometer i forget that i have cuts (not bleeding but it is reddish) , ,
What will be my risk? High risk, low risk, No Risk
My frend gave me the glucometer last nigth, i even not touch the glucometer in 12 hours, if my friiend blood is there definetely the blood is dry already,
Please help me to assess this matter,
Low risk, high risk , No Risk
low risk, you can have hbv vaccine if you did not have it already and even if you get hbv you ll clear it by immune system as all adults do
Low risk? Really ? Even the blood is dry it will be contagious? This virus is dangerous,
As i read in your forum that blood to blood contact, as my cuts is 2 hours already and not actively bleeding,
Anyway, than you very much for ypur reply,
Ms stef are you a specialist? Do you think i need a test here?
Ms stef i read that is possible to environment surfaces to transmiit the virus, but is a theory only? It is true?
have hbv vaccine if you are worried
Yeah i am worried because you told me i am in risk for hepatitis, i jist touch the glucometer and did not used it to check my sugar level,

go to pharmacy, have hbv vaccine end of story
even though any normal person would call the friend and ask do you have chronic hbv and the risk is anyway low
I just call my friend and informed me that glucometer is from our friend (pharmacist) and just ask a favor to him to give the meter to me, and i asked him if he is the one open the box, and he informed me that the box still sealed when he opened it, i think this thread is over, if the glucometer is new and my friend are not hepatitis positive, there is no chance that i will be infected with hepatitis virus, thank you stef to your advise
