Sanjibku, start a new thread for a better reply.
Including your latest ALT, AST, bx, and platelets, these might help with your question.

tbird,
titers are a measurement ...  a quantitative amount.

To answer your question, this is what i have been lead to believe.
DNA might need to be tested when you do
  ***** NOT *****
fit one of these categories in the diagnostic matrix:
1) never been exposed to hbv
or
2) immune from a past infection
or
3) immune from a vaccination
To put it in different terms,
if you fit in one of the above,
you do NOT NEED a DNA test.

The diagnostic matrix can be found here
on our welcome page
http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Hepatitis/HepB-Introduction--Welcome-Page/show/34?cid=153

***thunderbird10, make no mistake YOU DO FIT IN THE 2nd category and as we all have said above, you are immune from past infection.***

As for occult, well......
You are approaching an area that is debated among the experts.

My laymen advice to you is now that you have the basics down,
its time for you to do some reading and research if you are still have testing questions.
This will be the best route for the answers you seek.

STart here,

> Recommendations

What TITERS are??

When HBV DNA needs to be done?
I read somewhere that people with HBs Ag negative they can have HBV DNA positive that mean they have the virus in their blood..

Who know why they are saying this : "Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg): A negative result indicates that a person has never been exposed to the virus or has recovered from acute hepatitis and has rid themselves of the virus (or has, at most, an occult infection)."
What this mean: "at most,an occult infection?""

In my test I don't see this Ag HBe  at all ??
So I was reading if I would have this I will be contagious, but I read also it can dissapear and is called  mutated?  Right ?
What about this:"Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg): A negative result indicates that a person has never been exposed to the virus or has recovered from acute hepatitis and has rid themselves of the virus (or has, at most, an occult infection). A positive (or reactive) result indicates an active infection but does not indicate whether the virus can be passed to others."

Ok I got that ,thanks.
Now I am trying to understand what this mean in my test:Hepatitis B Virus Surface Ab    SERUM    25.1 (H)       mIU/mL    (0-10) ????

What is 25.1 stand for?
=============================================================

The normal range is 0-10, in this range one has none, or not enough to be called immune to HBV.
You have 25.1 IU/mL, over the 1-10 range so you are + for surface antibodies (GOOD)
in your case(+core antibodies) this means your body successfully produced enough antibodies to fight off the HBV virus, and be considered immune...

Your surface antibodies won the war aginst HBV since you have NO HBsAg, a surface coat lipoprotein antigen of the hepatitis B virus.

Occult Hep B is when you test negative for the surface antigen but have measurable DNA.

Hi apache1,

The Dr that gave me the result she is my health care provider.

Now I read also the results but there is also a chance of having occult Hep.B? My results  are indicating this as well.
Who knows what Occult Hep B mean ?I've read that this is also a weird form of Hep B?
Anyone knows about this?

quote from Tbird:
And why my doctor told me I am infected with chronic HBV and I am contagious?
Is she wrong?I hope she is?
=============================================================
What type of Dr is this...?  hepatologist, a gastro, a GP ???

Well I am not a Doctor, and there are no Doctors around here.
But everything I have researched about my hbv tests, the welcome page here, and what my Hepatologist, and NP, all tell me, and the forum members here,
is without HBV surface antigens (and you are neg-)
and with + positive surface antibodies (you are positive) ,
you have NO current infection.
And you are probably immune  to HBV now.

You do not appear to have HBV from the blood test results you posted above,
unless there is something more that your DR knows, that we don't. And I can't imagine what that would be.

Go to a Hepatologist and get a second opinion. Couldn't hurt

I'm not a doctor, but as far as I can tell you were infected previously but have cleared the virus.  You have no surface antigen so you can't have Hep B.

TITERS < 10 MIU/ML ARE CONSIDERED NEGATIVE.
Well I will repeat those test again because I worked as a dental assistant so we got vaccinated.
I had my HBV vaccin on 4th March 09 and the test was done on 26 March 09.
So it might has to do something with that ?
Now this dr I saw last fr. she told me I have this infection more than 6 months and she kicked me out of her office and before she told me to go and do an abdominal ultrasound to see how is my liver.I did it and everything was ok based on radiology.
Thanks for your replies.

Are you sure you entered the information correctly?  According to what you've written here you are surface antigen (Surface Ag) negative.  That means you are not currently infected.

And why my doctor told me I am infected with chronic HBV and I am contagious?
Is she wrong?I hope she is?
What do you mean by :"not to worry, you do not have HBV with neg surface antigens "
So that mean I am not infected with HBV?
I don t have no simptoms I never got sick I am pretty healthy and I never had problems with my liver.
Any other opinions?

FRom your blood test, it shows,
immune from a past resolved HBV infection.

not to worry, you do not have HBV with neg surface antigens
