Blood test result Hep B

HI

I'm a RN who has been for reg check of hep b status.

They have said I have a partial response. my level is 57mlU/ml

they have requested that I return for hep BSAG/HBC blood test

Are they checking I'm not infected or is it routine?

Should I be concerned?

Good morning,

How are you doing today?  Wow 1000 of riba, I may be wrong but I think I remember that the first 4 weeks of tx kills the virus and that raising the riba later doesn't matter.  It's a good question and we need to ask some of the old timers of the forum if this is so.

Wow. That's amazing. It seems like you just posted on the board about getting ready to start and your hopes for expanding the famly. And here it is 12 weeks in. Rivers do get crossed a day at a time. You're kid will look back on the mac & cheese fondly. When I was off trapsin around the country, at 18, and 26, and 30something...When I'd get lonely or be pushing myself to carry on heading my way home...it was always the thought of Mom's peanut butter and fluff or burnt grill cheese sandwhiches that kept me going. It's not the content we remember, it's the heart that's making it. Yours is as big as they get.
Be Well,
Don

Hi again :)
I do my shots on Thursday night.  I will either get my pcr done on Wednesday or Thursday before I do my shot.  I was on 800 riba as a geno 2.  I pushed for weight based at the start of tx. and doc said it was not necessary, even for short course.  I pushed the issue, and he insisted.  Well, 10 weeks in, he changed his tune.  He decided that if I wanted to do short course, I should be on weight based riba for the remainder of tx.  I upped it to 1000 and it has kicked my butt.  It has been almost 3 weeks and I haven't gotten my blood taken yet.  I will have all bloodwork done when I get my pcr done.  So, I am taking it 4 weeks at a time.  My first goal is 16, then my final goal is 20.  I feel as though that is splitting the difference between the "old school" and the "new school", which thinks that geno 2 if clear at week 4 then 12-16 weeks is enough.
Excited to hear how much your hgb has improved. Will be looking for your post tomorrow. I would try to get pcr drawn on Saturday if I were you :) I know that it will be clear!

Have a great night tonight.  I am going to go eat some pudding.  It is the only thing sounding good today :)

Don't worry about the house cleaning, just deal with the kids and your sxs that's enough. How much riba are you taking? Your 3 days ahead of me with tx and I still can't believe we have 12 to go.
Will know in the morning what my HGB is and will post. I'm sure it's up, I can feel it. This blood feels great and if I need more so be it.
Are you going this week for your 12 week PCR?  Jim said the best day to get it is the day before or the day of your next shot, just get it before you take the next shot.

Let me know what your doing with the PCR and how much riba.

Thanks so much for checking in! I did #12 Thursday and I've been sleeping ever since I think!  Since upping the riba, I am definitely struggling a LOT more.  Overall, still doable but my house is NOT at all clean.  In fact some would say it is downright dirty at this point :)  My kid has been eating quite a bit of mac and cheese and other not so great kids food.  And, we have been laying very low, at home for most of the days!
Really though, I recognize how fortunate I am, so I will try to be greatful for all of small blessings rather than the annoyed by the inconveniences of it all.
How are you doing my tx buddy?  12 more to go!  Seems to be going pretty quickly huh?  Sounds like you are flying high on that new blood they gave you.  I hope it keeps up!  Can't wait for the report on your HGB numbers.
I have committed to 16 shots and have begun to convince myself that 20 is the way to go.  I think by the time I get to 16, I'll be ready to continue on to 20!  Then my 6 month countdown begins to trying for more babies :)
Give me an update on how you are feeling when you have a minute!

We are not doctors, and most of us have Hepatitis C.  With us, we initially tested positive for the antibody, and they then run bloodwork for the actual virus.  Twenty percent exposed to the Hepatitis C virus spontaneously clear the virus without treatment.  Not sure if Hepatits B works like that, and someone a little more knowledgeable may can answer you better.  I just don't want you to think you are being ignored!  There are some great folks on this board who have spent significant time researching our disease!  Did you get vacinated for hepatitis A & B?  If you don't test positive, you may want to think about having it done in your line of work.
