Thanks to the community, and a query regarding specific symptoms

Hi all,

I've been lurking for a few months and I'd like to thank everyone actively posting on this forum, offering knowledge and support to one another. HBV is a ******* and it's comforting to feel that I'm not alone in this.

I have a question relating to some odd symptoms I've been having. I was diagnosed HBsAg positive in April with the following serology:

HBsAg positive
HBsAb negative
HBeAg positive
HBeAb negative
Igm positive

Viral DNA 17log6
ALT 50 and trending incrementally downward on follow up.
Fibroscan 4.6
Mild fatty liver

I've had a bunch of mildly irritating but to-be-expected lower abdominal and urq symptoms since April. In the last 1.5-2 months I've had protracted periods of what feels like inflammation running from the right side of my stomach, up my right lung and to the right side of my throat. Referred discomfort down my right arm. I feel relief when I breath very deeply, consume cold liquids or push on a certain section of my lower abdomen.

I've searched extensively on this forum but cannot find such symptoms corresponding with hbv infection. The next availability for my HBV doctor is in September (at which point I'll beg TDF or ETV, which will hopefully resolve this), but in the meantime I was wondering whether anyone could shed some light on what's happening?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am not a doctor. Chronic Hepatitis B has very few symptoms, and yours certainly did not ring any bell. Your symptoms seemed more likely to be related to reflux(heartburn). Of interest, you tested HBcAb Igm positive? If this is the case, you may be experiencing acute Hepatitis B, being an adult, you should have an over 95% chance of resolving your HBV infection without becoming chronic. So be sure to test your HBsAg again before starting any treatment at your next doctor appointment.

Thanks StephenCastlecrag. It's a different, less defined sort of pain sadly. I was hazarding gallbladder but only clutching at straws.

My first doctor noted the igm but was a little unsettled by the low, stable ALT relative to high viral load. She consulted a couple of researchers who suggested acute phase. I was then referred to my current doctor who advised chronic immune-tolerant (w/ viral flare), or acute phase with a poor prognosis, citing the lacklustre ALT again. Prepared for the worst, but committed to waiting my 6 months like everyone else.
Gallbladder pain due to blocked bile duct by gallstones is very severe.
Good luck with your next test.
