I never heard of someone that is unable to get it.  I do know that with the drug use he has a very high chance of getting it if he is not careful.  If he is tested and they say he doesn't have it thats one thing but no one is immune to hep c.  A & B yes if he was vaccinated but not C.  He really needs to lay off the drugs.  It brings nothing but problems and if he does catch something depending on what it is he can pass it on to you.  That's my two sense.

Take care,

Steve

I will try to explain the antibodies thing so you understand.  I didn't realize thats what you were asking at first.  If he tested positive for antibodies but they said he isn't actively infected than thats good.  Antibodies just mean he was exposed to hep c at some point but his body fought it off.  Doesn't mean that the next time he will but for now he is ok.  Even those of us that are infected if we do get clear of the virus will still test positive for antibodies for the rest of our lives.  Doesn't mean we are active with the virus.  Anyone ever exposed to the virus and their body clears or go thru treatmentand clear it will test positive for antibodies.  Hope that helps.

going to prison is one way to quit drugs or slow down.He must have been exposed to C but cleared it on his own.Next time he is exposed he may not be as lucky to clear.

Very unlikely to get it from intercourse.  At least not the hep c.  It is only from exposure to an infected persons blood.  Hopefully you can get him to quit the drugs though because it is easy to make even one mistake that changes the whole situation.  Not here to preach though I just hate to hear that people are doing that **** to themselves and putting them at risk.

Glad to here that.  You are treating arent you.  I don't rememeber seeing you on here but maybe I was just not paying attention.  What are your stats?  Just curious.  I like to know what peoples stats are so I know which strain and things they have.

Is this because he has Hep C? You have almost a non-existant chance of getting this virus from him if you aren't sharing needles. He probably needs some support right now. To cut him out because of his illness is not being informed. I can see it if you don't want to be around him for other reasons, like being in prison for a long time, being a bad guy etc. But to dump him b/c of the Hep C makes me feel sad for you and him.

Her boyfriend is an IV drug user and he is in jail.  I think she has plenty of other reasons to dump him.  LOL

I think being an IV drug user and in jail are grounds for dismissal. HCV is the least of his problems. I say she should move on.
