He drinks from the same glass of hepatitis B patient's glass

Hi:
It's about Hepatitis B?
My friend has a son in law who had this disease since long time (chronic) and once he didn't know (the son in law hide his disease for 10 years), he is always sitting near him speaking for long time, sometime sleep on the same pillow, use the same bathroom and once he drinks from his glass by fault.
My question is: can this transmit the disease to my friend?
what's your advice for the future because my friend will not accept to have vaccination.
thank you very much.

trasmission thru saliva or kissing is almost impossible so you don t need to worry about this but all poeple in contact with a hbv carriers must get vaccine for maximum safety, so check if you have or had hbv already and if not get vaccine

--No.

To protect others, HBVers should
● Have sexual contacts vaccinated
● Use barrier protection during sexual intercourse if partner not vaccinated or naturally immune
● Not share toothbrushes or razors
● Cover open cuts and scratches
● Clean blood spills with detergent or bleach
● Not donate blood, organs or sperms

HBVers
● Can participate in all activities including contact sports
● Should not be excluded from daycare or school participation and should not be isolated from other children
● Can share food, utensils, or kiss others

hi..

hep B can be transmitted through blood like transfusion, sex and saliva for like 5 liters..

so in your friend case he can't have hep B just because of talking to someone who has hep B and drinking from his glasses..

but i would suggest that he shouldn have hep B exams and if he's is fortunate better for him to have a shots rather that taking a risk...

ok?? just explain it to him that it is not that easy to have this kind of sickness since it not curable and medications are very expensive, and so hard to work abroad if he can have this illness...

godbless!! hope he will listen
