for you it is good to be hbeag pos, on therapy you have more chances to get rid of hbv
as regards pregnancy it is dangerous for the baby because hbeag is thought to go thru placenta nd infect the baby even if vaccine is made at birth
new guidelines on pregnancy:
tenofovir to make hbeag negative and hbvdna undetactable so that vaccine has almost 0% chances to fail
tenofovir is also good therapy for you with no resistance and 16% eradication at 2-3 years, check also hbvdna pcr and look for an expert liver specialist (there are very few really expert and most ignorant)
Thanks very much for this, I'm due to see a specialist next month so hopefully they will give me more advice.
If a baby is infected with hep b at birth, would having the vaccination and the immunoglobulin help eradicate the virus so that my baby can be free from the hep b?
no ones infected there is nothing to do eradication is almost impossible at the moment, all drug prevent liver damage only no effect on virus clearance
so tenofovir in ur case is a must plus vaccine at birth
