Hep B test results, I need help

Hello,

My mom had this blood test for Hep B 10-15 days ago and she had B for the last few years. I need someone to explain what this mean, is she still carrier of Hep B or she is free of it..

Hepatitis B Antigen   Standard Range is Nonreactive   - Your Value: Reactive

Specimen Considered repeatedly reactive: confirmed using the Architect HBsAg confirmatory assay.

Hepatitis B Antibody        Standard Range         Your Value: Reactive

Hep Bs Ab Cmt                                                 See Comment

Individual is considered immune to HBV infection

Can anyone help me to understand these results, please ?

Thank you,

European!

both tests need to be done quantitatively to better understand this situation.

hbsab negative - no antibodies to hep b
hbsag positive - you currently are infected with hepatitis b

either accute or chronic we are not sure, but you need to do hep b igm test to make sure.

below is a link to understand results.

http://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/HBV/PDFs/SerologicChartv8.pdf

From my point of view but I am no doctor or specialist you are currently chronically infected with a low viral dna.

I think you should be hbeag - and if not in the US you should test for hbsag quantitive. This along with the igm test will tell you if you are accute infection, chronic infection, inactive carrier , active carrier.

your viral load or copies of hep b being detected in your blood is 653 for december and the fluctualtion from sept it seems that you hover around this area of copies of virus.

you need these test

hbeag
hbigm
fibroscan
ultrasound

is anyone else in your family infected? always start with family members especially mother or siblings first. this will give you a clue if you are chronic. if your siblings and mother or mother is infected more than likely you are chronic and infected at birth.

Hello guys again,

I had requested Hep B tests with quantitative for three "levels" for this virus. However, both tests came just with regular results as these labs do not perform tests on quant/numbers.

The latest results, Dec 2015

Hep B Surface Antibody   -  NEGATIVE
Hep B Surface Antigen     -  POSITIVE ( note: this is screening test only...)
Hep B  Core Antibody, total  POSITIVE

Results from Sept 2015:

Hep B DNA 3847
Hep B DNA copies 21643

Results from Dec 2015

Hep B DNA  653
Hep B DNA copies 3800

Hepatitis Be Antigen Beagr -    NEGATIVE
Hepatitis B Surface Antigen      POSITIVE
Hepatitis B Core Antibody,total POSITIVE

Hep B DNA IU/ML  2.8
Hep B DNA Copies 3.6

Do anyone knows how to understand this results ?

Thanks

Thank you guys.

Can someone of you please type it down what tests exactly she needs to do in order to determine where she is with hep b right now ?  I'll need this clear to copy and take to this doctor and not to make anything confused.  I'll appreciate your help. Thanks.
