I must learn to be a little less active here :-).
Ihe only relation as far as I know: ethnicity would have a good correlation with the variant of hepB one would be exposed to. Chinese are more likely to have genotypes B or C.
I have not come across correlations between race and the progress of the disease.
Certain geographic areas have a greater incidence of Hep B. In these areas, Hep B tends to be spread vertically which means from mother-to-child at birth. People in these areas tend to become chronically infected and are symptomatic at younger ages.
The different genotypes of Hep B appear to cluster by region. Genotype A being prevalent in North America; B & C, in Asian countries; D is Africa.
The course of the disease does not seem to vary based solely on ethnicity.
