The EASL (European association for the Study of the Liver ) 2012 treatment criteria for HBeAg negative patients are:
HBVDNA > 2,000 iu/ml (~ 10,000 copies/ml) and ALT > ULN.
You have chronic Hepatitis B, e-antigen negative infection.. Please check your DNA levels.. If positive have them run Hep B Genotype test, and surface antigen quantitative test.
If your DNA in not detectable you don't need treatment, they consider you inactive carrier. Although some doctors may put people on six month course of interferon to see if you clear hbv.. it could happen.
However if DNA is positive, at over 1,000 copies/ml and being it hbe mutant infection treatment is strongly recommended.
Choices would be either interferon 10-20% chance on them to clear after a year of treatment.. Or antivirals - which is life time Hbe negative fellas with 1-2% clearance chance per year..
