Hep B carrier and adoption

Have a friend who is thinking about adopting a baby from China that is a Hep B carrier.  Bloodtest say HBeAg positive.  All others neg.  Any thoughts?  Can someone give more info or good website to go to.  I see that there is treatment out there, what is the response rate and protocol for length of treatment? sides, etc...   Child has no symptoms and is 1-1/2 years old.

This is a yahoo group that is for those adopting children with Hepatitus B. It is active and she can get a lot of questions answered there. We have adopted from China twice.

By the way one of the antibodies should be positive because they are vaccinated for Hep. B  I just can't remember all the specifics. I just remember that our daughter had something positive concerning the Hep B and they told me it was because she had the vaccine.
