Hbv and hcv are to different types of viruses. It is standard procedure to test hcv and hiv and hdv also when virus is discovered. Its not advancing to hcv . Also, for hcv there is a cure now, sure..is 95.000$ but it exists.

Hello, yes it is possible.  It is also possible to get a false positive.  I am only sharing this because when I was going to start a trial I had all of these preliminary tests done.  Then when they started the trial I had to have all tests done again.  I tested positive for Hep B.  The doctor knew that was wrong, I was retested and it came back negative so I was able to do the trial.

When first tested in the 90's for HCV I recieved a false negative and went on until 2007 when I was dx correctly.  Mistakes do happen.

I hope you don't have both.
I like the "by the house" comment that is cute :)
