check here to know how to test and monitor hbv infection, most of the time it doesn t need treatment but follow all tests required especially a fibroscan for liver damage

dont follow this thread, this is from 2006 and everything has changed about knowledge of hbv and drugs

Since my test were from 1995 and/or the lab results were not shown with the same values as yours, I can't give you the answer. However, HepC is not the same as HepB or HepA. The results in the test for HAV&HBV should indicate 2 things :1-if your body has ever been exposed to the virus and 2- whether or not your body has cleared the virus either by itself or thru injections that are not as drastic as our HCV tx is.
I'd ask your doctor what your results indicate. Hopefully, he'll do a much better job than I have done. Good Luck Pauly
thx pualy but am i still not cleared yet, so when should i know whehter i have cleared or not or do i expect to have antibody soon or when do i expect to have it, pls help!
When I tested up initially, results showed
Hep B Surface Ag--- Negative
Hep B Surface Ab--- Positive
S/N ratio---------- 121 ( 10 or greater indicates immunity)
Hep B Core Ab------ Positive
His explanation: I've had Hep B but I've cleared it and need no further tx for it.
The test show thru the antigens and antibodies that you've had it but that it either has cleared or hasn't cleared. Keep the Faith Pauly
it's clearer to read this way:
i had hep B (acute) in June 2006 and my blood tests on 8 July 06 and 22 Aug 06 show the followings:
................8 Aug........22 Aug
Alk phosphtase..60.8..........59.9; U/L
ALT.............51.8..........16.9U/L
AST.............30.0..........17.3 U/L
Tot Bilirubin...21.5.......... 9.9 umol/L
HbsAg......................... -ve
HbsAb......................... <1.00 mIU/ml
if i am correct, the antibodies not appeared yet but Hep B should be cleared. I wanna to ask why the result is kind of confusing or am i now a hep B carrier or whether HBsAb will become +ve and if so, when (how many months after the clearence of HBsAg) should I expect that HBsAb become >=10mIU/ml or HBsAb (+ve)?
thx
