Hey, Please see:

Obviously, you have been exposed to the Hepatitis B virus. Which has its own set of issues, that I know of you can not "cure" yourself of Hep B, as you can w/ Hep C. I think it is manageable with lifestyle changes, and there are drug tx to keep the virus from spreading, but my experience is with the HCV, so my knowledge is meager. Your liver enzymes will wax and wane with the HBV's level of activity. I would conuslt a hepatologist at a major university center, as they are usually up to date on the newest tx advancements, access to clinical trials, etc.. It is not the best news in the world assuredly, but I would not let it torture my every waking moment. Just get checked out and and undertake a tx regimen. I'm betting in 5 years there will be a drug that will totally eradicate the HBV from your system, as with HCV, they are making dramatic tx advancements. mac
Your ALT is above the normal range. You should measure your viral load (hbvdna). For HBeAg negative patients, hbvdna greater than 2,000 iu/ml and elevated ALT may require treatment.
