If you had the vaccine why your HBsAg is positive ?
vaccine prevents cronic but hepatitis can develop anyway, you should check your hbsag quantity and your hbsab anitbody quantity and see if hbsag is decreasing so that we know you are seroconverting
the other possibility is that you are infected with a hbsag mutant, vaccineted people develop cronic hbv but as inactive carrier in this case.i have been a study in singapore i think and they found a low percentage of vaccinated people infected with hbsag mutants (thank you drug makers for lamivudine and adefovir....) but nobody of them had active hepatitis
another way is to check hbv and hbsag for mutations but these tests are available at research centers or university labs
since hbcab igm is negative it is not acute
First of all thx for hepling me.
second --> If i'm serocinverting, when should i repeat HBsAg test.
third --> how could i know that its a mutant other than i was vaccinated to.
what tests differentiate? what about the vaccine i had, couldn't it overcome even the mutant form of the virus.
If i'm serocinverting, when should i repeat HBsAg test.every 3-6 months but i'd make quantitative hbsag test so in two blood checks you will know if it is decreasing or steady and this will tell you if seroconv or cronic mutated
what tests differentiate?i don t know if available in normal labs
what about the vaccine i had, couldn't it overcome even the mutant form of the virus.
no, it is not enough for all cases when hbsag is mutated.
