undetectable HBV DNA, high hbsag quantification

my HBV DNA is undetectable a year ago. but my hbsag quantification seems fluctuating from 12000iu to 7500iu and recently to 9500iu/ml. my hbeag is -ve while hbsab is 6.5iu/ml. LFT normal

i have been placed on tenofovir/fumarate. please am i on the right medication?

Yes, you are on the right medication. The sole purpose of Tenofovir is to reduce the production of hbvdna and you have responded very well. The issue of reducing HBsAg is more complex. Reducing hbvdna to very low level is a necessary but not sufficient condition to reduce HBsAg. Some research indicates this may happen after prolonged use of TDF or ETV, for at least 8 years.
