Well to my understanding only the RNAi delivery and therapeutic dose will be a problem otherwise If they can tackle all these RNAi medicine will be a sort of cure as it can easily clear virus by pairing with the viral DNA/RNA and inhibiting its replication.
It's fair to say that treatment (rather than a cure) for HepB i$ more attractive. The good news is that a lot could be done with current treatment with the help of a knowlegeable doctor.
I believe that RNA Interference therapy aims to interfere with replication. There are numerous obstacles but the one that is most concerning to me is the emergence of RNAi escape HBV mutants.
what is more discouraging is the fact that the primary portal for heb news hepb.org does not keep its drug watch updated.
it has some of the drugs listed like NUC B1000 which is not in development anymore but promised a lot - it just gives a false sense of hope that something revolutionary is in pipeline when in reality there is none
a drug to cure ? or another drug aimed at antivrial treatment ?
im not getting excited if this is another antiviral drugs .
someone needs to take the initiative to search for a cure not a treatment.
sad that this Canadian company ( drug: HEPAVAXX) that was doing some researches did not come through..maybe they're still working on it .. who knows
