i posted already the only huma trial with 90% response, 90% very low hbsag reached and about 50% hbv clearance is sequential treatment of antivirals used longterm for 3-7years and peginterferon add on for another 2 years

this trial used all antivirals even the weak ones and only 2 patients were using tdf or etv which are the antivirals of us today so the response might even increase

of course is, hbeag and hbeab stay in balance one neutralizing the other until hbv mutates without hbeag to precore or bcp mutants

if hbsag in iu/ml and hbvdna are low it is best to treat by pegintf before hbeag becomes negative and hbeab positive or mutants become prevalent

all the hbeag story is old stuff and little if no importance to hbv infection and its clearance, what matters is hbsag quantity in iu/ml
