I am not a doctor. I just like to make a few comments.
It is very good that you have responded well to Entecavir and I think you should keep on taking the medication.
As for your HBsAg, I would like to see the unit for your results. If they were in iu/ml and were carried out at the same lab, I would suggest a re-test of your serum HBsAg. Oral drugs like Entecavir and Tenofovir, can only inhibit the replication of the virus, and as your doctor said, Entecavir has been effective and you now have a very low level of replicated HBV virus in your blood. However, HBsAg is produced separately from the cccDNA in infected liver cells and released into the blood in great quantity in the form of SVP (sub viral particles). These SVP are not infectious as they contain no viral DNA.
When you say your Elastypgraphy is over 21, do you mean your Fibroscan score is over 21 kpa?
You may like to repeat your Fibroscan, hopefully you should see an improvement that should continue with a sustained reponse to Enetecavir.
Ur hbsag raised from 1025 to 7500.. That's not a good response and u should ve added peg in feb like many members talk here.
Sorry,
what is "peg" for?
and
yes, my Fibroscan values are 21 for over 3 years now...
is you have 21kpa this is advanced cirrhosis and you must take antiviral indefinitely even after clearing hbsag you must keep antiviral for at least 1 year
as to best drug tenofovir is superior to entecavir, if you want to change it combo etv+tdf one month and then discontinue etv
Recheck ur fibroscan regularly after 3-6months and when it comes to a considerable lower value ask ur doc to add peginterferon injections. Right now u aren't fit for peg.
Peginterferon are weekly injections used to treat hep b.
What reading is the MAX in terms of KPA. before its not considered cirrhosis?
What reading is the MAX in terms of KPA. before its not considered cirrhosis?
11.5kpa starts the risk
12.5-13kpa very probable cirrhosis
over 18kpa is very high and cirrhosis decompensation may happen on higher values
with antioxidants, organic fresh foods with no chemical, liver compensated, good albumin and platelets, low bmi, it is possible to regress cirrhosis
the point of no return is not set for sure, micronodular cirrhosis is about the area of no return, decompensated also
