This site is also for HepB

I just want to clarify something I see in many posts. People often write 'This message board is for Hep C'.

In fact the thread admin seems to lump the Hep B and the Hep C together. For example I selected Hepatitis B as a topic and you will see it ends up on this message board.

It is not simply for Hepatitis, but if you look closely you'll see that it is also Liver-Other and Liver-misc. This almost makes it a Liver problem forum.

I try to see which topic area is referenced before responding, but sometimes will make a post even if I'm unfamiliar with that specific topic when I see that no one is responding simply to let the poster know that they are not being ignored.

Hey Pauly...
Yea I noticed (after this post & someone else also brought it to my attention) that there are several (Like 6 or so) hep B post on the board now that either got LOST in all the threads, or just got skipped over because nobody knew the answers...

I sure would hate for the Hep B folks to think they are being ignored, or left out... but I can only speak for myself, & I simply do NOT know the answers, nor have any experiance with it what so ever... that's like a horse of a different color for me!

However I had no idea that was for archieve reasons either... thanks for explaining that!

Thank you for mentioning this. I've been one of those who has said this site is for HEP C. In fact, it is for hepatitis period. They ask for type of Hep or liver, etc. for the archiving of the posts, only. I went back and looked up the posts and although there are some listed for other types, the great majority are for Hep C. Since I've had Hep B, I've found other sites that will give more help/ support than this one.
When anyone posts about HepB I try to help the best that I can. We try to help, never hurt!  Stay well,    Pauly

You are correct, this is a site for Hep B and AIH and anyone suffering with Hepatitis of any sort. There seem to be a lot more people here treating for Hep C here but the site is not just for people with Hep C. Thanks for bringing that up.

I think that it was a WONDERFUL idea to bring that up. I could not figure out (apx. 2 weeks ago) what to do or say to the Hep B threads. Then I "got educated" that Hep B is treated with interferon!! So as the poor Hep. B folks go through tx, most of us Hep C folk should be able to help them out too!! (With sx at least)!!    :)
Blessings to ya! Are you bieng treated w/ interferon??

Hey... yea, this forum is for hepatitis PERIOD (doesn't matter which kind)... but it just so happens that MOST are affected with C... So there is a lot more info on C being shared...

When you open a thread If You look on the upper left hand corner
It'll say (The Hepatitis Forum) which is a direct link back to the main hepatitis page... but it also contains a TOPIC & A Subject line (Other than the bold Topic Posted....
Like your thread says:
Topic: Hepatitis B
Subject: This site is also for HepB

I don't think many notice or pay attention to the topic line!
I generally don't.. but your right this site is also for Hepatitis B
:)
