We are in the same situation. I got a job offer for abu dhabi as mep coordinator i am electrical engineer. I called the clinic that my agency refer for my medical and ask abot hep b test. And they still check for it no matter what job cathegory you are and declare you unfit to work since it is mandated by doh according to them. So sad it is our people who deprived us for a better opportunity abroad. God bless us all

Good day sir.

I am Kurt T. a filipino currently in Dubai, UAE. I am a healthy carrier of Hepatitis B (Chronic). Just finish signing the Offer letter (Nov 10, 2012) from the hotel that I am going to work as a Cashier in a Hotel Bar. I haven't advice to take a medical test yet. I would like to ask if there is any possibility that they will consider my medical condition.
Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you and god bless.
Sincerely,
K

watch out ung gcmaf therapy sa forum na toh.. it could be the one we have been waiting for. kaso mejo mahal lang talaga but i heard maglalabas sila ng mas cheaper for that this november. For now gawin mo is healthy living, dont drink and smoke, less sugar, less or no fat at all. try to exercise regularly. sobrang gastos nga lang pero it's the best thing we could do.. God bless us all. lagi lang tayo magppray.. Wag masyadong magpa stress kasi nakaka stress talaga itong situation natin.

Thank you so much sa info bnigay mo..

God bless you also!

Ang ginagawa ko kasi ngaun, kokontakin ko muna ung clinic na accredited ng employer, don mo tanungin lahat lahat,
1. kung required pa ba hepa b testing for visa application para sa country na un
2. kung required, tanong mo kung pwede ang inactive carrier, just like you said.
3. (this is time you decide kung iinform mo ang employer or hindi) kung required ng clinic ang waiver from the employer, then tanong mo sa employer mo kung makakapag issue sila ng ganon..

just weigh all things and decide what's best for you, sayang opportunity, malay mo bigyan ka ng waiver..

pero in my case, na deny ako ng employer ko kahit non-contagious ang state ko, sayang lahat ng gastos ko for medical examination, etc. eto nga lang ang mga consequences that you have to deal with..
sumugal lang ako..

God bless.. Don't worry, God hear our cries.. :)

Sa kanila hndi man required and Hep B screening sa medical exam for work permit.. Hay.. Ano kaya? ituloy ko pa or hindi na? can you give me advice? please... thanks!

The problem is always at the POEA, I think all accredited clinics are mandated by them to test hepa b regardless of countries where you are applying. I've been denied many times, eventhough my employer doesn't require hepa b testing, the clinic would always ask for that. And if they results came up and found you have hepa b, they would require waiver from the employer, and if the employer found out, they will think twice about your application. Although there are no rules in their country and company to disqualify those who has our condition. Of course they will choose those who have not, this is what happens to the rules implemented by POEA. It's really frustating to know that the goverment we have is like this. Cases of hepa b spreads like a wild fire and the goverment dont care about it.

Hi, do you know where I can find a list for the countries POEA consider "unfit to work" if one is Hep B positive? Because Im currently applying for a job in Cayman Islands, and I am afraid that they will deny me again.
Actually, HBV test is not included in Cayman Isalnds medical exam, but for POEA I'm pretty sure they will test me for that.. Thanks for you responses. :)

yes but do these new laws or rules really apply?

The rule changed early this year, 2011 or so. That was why I was asking when you applied. Previously, they don't wave Hep B. Did you go through the trend I sent?

Hi, i was applying for Cabin Crew at an airline.. The airline company actually waived my Hep B condition. But I the problem was in the immigration, i wasn't approved for a visa(work permit) bec i was a Hepa B carrier.. :-(

When were u denied and which job were u applying for? I heard they only secreen hep b for six job category.
Check this long trend on the subject for Dubai.

You may likely get the visa if your job is not in the six categories.
