I did not have HBV before this. I am asking if I can get HBV this way. And no I am not immune but will get the vacc soon but not sure if this is a risk and how big of risk. This just happened the other day
Thanks
The risk is not zero but low.
Thanks,
Has anyone ever been infected this way?
Do you think i can still go get the vaccine?

--Not sure.
Do you think i can still go get the vaccine?
--If you are still HBsAg- and HBsAB-.
so if an exposure just happens you can still get a vacc? even in the window? if tests show -ve

--Usually the worst the vaccination can do is ineffectiveness.
do check hbv, hcv, hiv
vaccine is effective until hbsag is negative so you have plently of time but make it as soon as possible, window period can be very long even 6 months.the time to hbsag positivity is probably due to way of infection and number of virions transmitted.
My HBsag and HBsab were still -ve and I got the first hep B shot. am I protected now
not yet, full protection starts from an antibodies level of more than 10miu/ml, recheck hbsab in 4 weeks, usually full protection is after second/third dose
in any case any hbsab level less than 10 is ok in terms of cronic development while is not enough to prevent development of an acute hbv
i mean prevention of cronic development
so it will prevent me from getting Chronic HBV right now but still may get accurate? is that what you mean?
hbsab from 0.01miu/ml to 10miu/ml, it is almost impossible to develop cronic hbv but this level of antibodies is not enough to prevent acute hbv
hbsab>10miu/ml enough to protect from cronic hbv development and enough to prevent acute hbv on most, if acute hbv develops it will be very mild
hbsab 0.00miu/ml, no protection at all even if vaccinated
