With many doubts and sad

Hello friends, hereby I ask your advice, my wife carries HepB and is now being treated with tenofovir, apparently she acquired it at birth in China, her viral load a few months ago was 663 million copies.
We have a child before birth the doctor didn't make hep test to my wife and now he has the virus also :(
My son actually goes to many doctors, infectious disease and gastro controls, but here in Costa Rica they don't no to much about this disease.
I fell confuse because my son viral charge is 335 millions of copies, ASL and ALT normal, and the last medical check the doctor sad they are studying the option to start treating my son... my son is only 3 years old :(
For this reason I want your advice, beacuse i read hep virus it behaves differently in each person, and the viral charge sometimes does not matter, and and the Asian virus is so high viral load and HBeAg positive.
thank you for your answers and hope everyone is fine.

Yep, Abivax and Replicor both are in phase 2. But not sure which one may be more effective in HBe negative.

And Abivax? It not supposed to be a drug that can keep the virus controlled by a time without using it every day?

I think Replicor has better potential and is more advanced in the trials, but we will see phase 1 results for TKM-HBV which should be published soon.

Yes, usually it is in adulthood problems start.  I would test his genotype (or I believe will know it from your wife's genotype).  Some genotypes are thought to be aggressive than others and some subtypes have more issues earlier in life (but believe this is in a Africa subtype).  If your wife contracted it in China then more than likely she is geno B or C.  C is studied to have a higher HCC rate.

Glad to hear about your second child and wish you all the best with your son and wife.  One of my sons had to have a second round of vaccines because he didn't show antibodies after the first round.  He was almost 2 y/o before we found out he developed the antibodies and was very worried in the meantime.  It's no fun waiting.

Thank you all for your answers, it is true that this virus usually causes problems because when the person is an adult?
What scares me is that something happens to my son, he's my life and my everything,i love him to much
My second child was born two months ago, he was vaccinated with gamma globulin and hepb vaccine, we are waiting for the blood test, and we hope he has immunized.
thanks for all the support, and i wish you all the best!!

I believe it is common for young children to be in the immune tolerant stage (high viral load with normal alt/ast) for some time.  From what I've learned (and am far from an expert) they do not recommend treatment for adults in this stage.  With that said, I have also read about treating children in hopes of actual clearance since they are so young.  Is the doctor wanting to try Interferon?  I can't see antivirals at your son's age or stage, but have heard of children being cleared of hbsag with Interferon.  I am not sure what stage these treated children were in, but since most seem to be in the immune tolerant stage one has to wonder if this is common practice for kids?

I'm so sorry about your son.  I have children (who were immunized, HBIG, and did not get HBV) and worried for them, so I somewhat can relate to how you must feel.  Many here do what we can to keep up on adult treatment and I hope someone more educated than I am about HBV in children can help.  Also like Mike said, by the time he is an adult they should have much more, and hopefully a cure.  Best wishes.

Yes very sad.
Generally children as I know have normal alat asat no damage and very low viralload and treatment is not recommended until later on after 40years less or more it depends on each one.. yours have high viral load but normal alat.really try to choose a good doc and updated one to avoid any harm to your son.many persons here could help more

It is sad because ur son should have gotten the vaccine when he was born then hbv wouldn't be an issue
