Dr Lok did tests every 3 months for the past 9 months and she said no treatment is necessary at the moment. I have a meeting with her in March and she will do fibroscan and repeat my tests. My tests are fluctuating in one months different i get different results. She told me because my hbsag is low im more likely inactive or slightly active and when i mentioned to her why my fibroscan show 7.6 which mean F2 she told me fibroscans are more accurate for hepatitis C than B and my next fibroscan could show different results so it is just a marker. She told
Me to relax and i will not die soon lol

Terry, once again don't go to general or family doctors, they don't know too much about Hep b. I am patient of Dr Thomas Schiano, he is the only doctor who answers the questions on our forum, not on this page, go to another page where it says liver transplant forum. You can give to him all your test lab and explain your situation. I see that he answer to everyone. Maybe he can give you any name of any doctor in your area

Ok so that might be a fatty liver and another ultrasound might just say the same. Your best option is fibroscan or biopsy

It is very cut and dry when it comes to livers. There are a lot of things you can do for your liver that Docs do not tell you,They are to busy.

Ok let me tell you my story. On ultrasound it say coarsened liver but with fibroscan 7.6 no cirrhosis. Are you overweight? If so it could be fat otherwise push for fibroscan and get a good hepatologist who will test your hbvdna just to see if you are active. If you are hbeag negative and hbvdna  2000 iu/ml then i will worry a bit given the fact that your medication should make your hbvdna undetectable within 6 months

Sorry just read your top post so you are on medication and that is interesting that they didn't test your hbvdna and with medication usually you should have underected hbvdna. How long you have done medication?

So what they are saying is you don't have cancer but you have cirrohsis. I would do fibroscan to confirm if cirrhosis is present. Don't wait i would act fast to eliminate cirrhosis and if exist then you try and reverse it.

I'm interested to know your genotype and it depends on your origin are you from an asian origin? For example my origin is mideterrenean so im genotype D.

Also are you on any treatment?

I thinks someone mentioned once you could donit using an indian lab but honestly i wouldn't count much on that. Hbsag quantity is available in europe and asia but not here in states. I did my only hbsag quant when inwas in germany last year. I will be doing another one in june when i travel there to see if it is still at 220 iu/ml

even if it's early chirosis, the studies show that in this phase you can reverse it, but knowing for sure your status.. so, find out what's your fibroscan score(although if you have high alt it may be a bit higher because of inflamation in the liver ) for example my first fibroscan showed f2 fibrosis, than the second one, a month later was f0 . and after that check hbsag and hbvdna and for sure you will have a clear view of what treatment is needed.

the only way to see cirrhosis thru US is when it is advanced like mine with a lot of nodules.micronodules is the most advanced and research said not reversible, mine did, less advanced macronodular.this said other diseases can make nodules too so fibroscan is the best tool to see damage of any stage (less sensibility at mild stages but who cares for the mild stages) and highest sensibility for staging cirrhosis

if terry check US report and no nodules are reported, no adanced cirrhosis, but early cirrhosis which can be regressed can be seen by FS only
