am I infected?

I recently donated a blood, but  I received a letter from the blood center saying that my HBcAb core is positive with Ausab is 26, (but I am tested Negative for  HIV 1+2 Integral , HIV 1+2, HBs Ag,  HCV, RPR, and HTLV 1+2). They asked me to take 3 dose Hepatitis B  vaccine, and they can not accept blood from me again. I am a male 44 years old; I never took the Hepatitis B vaccine before. I am wondering why I am tested positive Hepatitis  for B Core Antibody , and  what does Ausab 26 mean?, does that mean that I am infected or will be infected soon with Hepatitis B or HIV. What is the posibility? , and what could be the result after I get the 3 dose vaccine?

Thanks

Did you remember if you were started a hepB vaccine meaning , have you been injected with the hep b vaccine , if you are maybe  you were given only one dose whic is the ist dose and you still need 3 doses to complete, thats why your positive with antibody but low , so you need to complete your B vaccine injections.   Ausab is a test to determine if you need a vaccine for hep B, if i'm not wrong.   could be that 26 is a reading a person needs the hep b vacccine.

i think if he was exposed to HBV and cleared it on his own during the acute state, they, at the blood center,  would still not take his blood.

people that clear HBV and become HbsAg negative still cantr donate blood and/or organs

CDC website states such thing i recall..

You're negative for the surface antigen.  cajim, has he cleared an HBV infection? Perhaps they will not take his blood for that reason...they are worried about occult HBV infection?
