I think in order to be quite sure, just go for a blood test.. Its not necessary that one experiences symptoms and its not also definate that if you get infected it will progress to chronic hepatisis. A greater percent of infected individuals have the capacity of clearing the virus and developing immune antibodies.. Go for a HbsAg, HbsAb, HbeAg and anti Hbc IgG tests including other liver function tests, its better knowing how your health is than worry. All the best.

Pretty much all my symptoms were the ones listed on previous thread, fever, discolored urine and stool, high fever, low energy level and jaundice, and liver pain.  I would think if you were going to get Hep B you would have come down with it by now but I don't know how long it cn live in your body in a dormant stage.

I would say you have a very good chance of being infected.  I had Hep. B years ago and was told the virus can be transmitted through any body fluid; ie, blood, sylavia. mucus, etc.  The symptons you described seem some what like I experienced but the time line and severity sounds different.  My infection started out with a sore throat for a few days and my urine became dark in the mornings and progressed to full time dark (color of tea) in a matter of days it was all day long dark. Oh, your feces turns almost white in color,  I progressively very quickly began running high fevers, no enery what so ever, to the point I would lie in bed all the time and cry thinking I was going to die.  My liver hurt really bad, I had no appitite and would only consume 1 qt. of apple juice per day, your get nausea, and was yellow on the skin and my eyes were yellow too.  It lasted about 6-7 wks. and it took me a year to really get my strenght back and I had a yellow tinge to my skin for years after.

Unfortunatly as you probably already know b/c your boyfriend has Hep.; there is no medicine.  It is viral and has to run it's course.  If you catch it earlier you may be able to take a Gamma Goblin (sorry for the spelling) to lessen the effects but I'm not sure it will do much once you are infected.  I would go to he doc and let him test my blood.
I hope you are negative.
