I feel pain on right rib and the cheest and back, for almost 3 months, but B ultrasonic says it is ok, but I still worry.
It would also be helpful to know your current liver status by liver panel.
Dear hbsag,
I have also had this pain in my back for almost a year now and was diagnosed with acute HBV last August. I have read online that the liver whilst inflammed can actually radiate through to your back which would certainly tie in with when I became infected. I have seen my GP about this pain but she has stated that it is simply muscular pain due to stress caused by this illness. I at first accepted this but then went on to investigate further. I have all but cleared the virus you see and according to my doc I am defo going to clear it. So I shouldn't have this sort of pain now at the end of the whole virus thing. Anyway, I have since searched the web and found that I may have another thing called Fibromyalgia. This is not a progressive illness or anything but it is basically linked with muscular pain. There are many causes for this muscular illness such as hormones, chronic stress, TMJ, or even being involved in a car crash????!!!! But it also states that some people develop this condition as a result of having caught HBV or HBC. I was amazed at reading this. It has made me happy to realise why I have had such pain in my body over the last year or so. The pain is one that moves around. One day you may have pain in left shoulder, next day the right, next day ache may be in you right chest, next in your left arm and neck etc etc. I thought I was going mad with this. Each day I'd have a different sore spot on my body and seeing as I was convinced it was cancer or something, each day I woke up i was sure that it had spread to a new bit! Totally random pain.Other symptoms include fatigue, aches, depression, anxiousness, lower back pain, insomnia, restless legs, IBS, headaches, moods, raynauds syndrome. There is a lot of reading out there on the subject. Maybe you have this condition too??? I believe diagnosis is based on how many of the symptoms you have and your history of pain. I hope this helps. At the very least then yes your HBV can cause aches in the back, muscles and joints. But suggest the Fibro to your doc and see what he says. Let me know how u get on with it.
