You really think it may take so long when Replicor and ARC-520 are quite advenced in the trials ? I'm sure is Replicor will be approved for hbv/hdv many people will use it for hbv too.
Also they mantioned Birinapant used for other diseases is in phase 3 trials so they know already a bit about it's sides.
We need to remember that lots of scientists who worked on hcv drugs now has to move to hbv cuz first one is in most cases curable now quite fast and companies know that who finds drug first will earn most money like in hcv market.
Much more detailed information you posted Stephen, thank you. Too bad they thought that it was going to be 5 years until at least 2 drugs to manage HBV and 10 years for meds that give a functional cure.
I hope we all can hang on long enough to see a functional cure. I was pretty excited reading the article until I got to the end of 10 years until functional cures occur. What a let down there, but it very well may be a reality.
Thanks, Stephen for this up-to-date info.
Ok, if we look only on US american investors it makes sense.
Thanks for the second article, it was the most complex overview I saw.
Actually I think it was a very realistic article, after all it was written for the investors, most likely American investors, so they based their research on clinical trials conducted in America and American based listed public companies.
If you want a more comprehensive review, try this:

Even here, the coverage is not complete or up to date.
I saw that article, it's terrible. It doens't mention at all Replicor, ABX, and Birinapant so first two most advanced in trials at the moment and last one most promising drug.
I don't know if author did it intentionally to promote products of big companies or just made wrong research.
