hep B and rheumatoid factor

I have chronic hepatitis B. It was passed on to me at birth. It is inactive. I recently experienced joint pains, naseau, headaches, rashes the list goes on and on. My doctor tested me for rheumatoid factor and found i had a 160. She sent me to a rheumatologist who tested me for c reactive protein, by the way my symptoms had subsided by the time i met with him. The test came back negative. He says this proves that hep b is the cause of having 160 rheumatoid factor. Does this prove indefinetily that my rheumatoid factor is a result of my chronic hep b? And are rashes, joint pains a symptom of hep b?

Welcome to the Forum!!'

Most all of us here are dealing with hep-C. You might try the
The Arthritis and Rheumatology Forum. They have a Dr there that can answer your question. This forum is a patient to patient support Forum, with no Dr.

I know that many people with Hep-C also are dealing with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Some should Chime in, but the weekend is usually slow...

I don't know much about HBV but I tested posotive for RA factor before tx and I had HCV. I have finished treatment and now my RA is normal. I'm guessing your doc is right and it is the HVB. I also saw a RA doc and he said he saw this with other hep patients. LL
