hep b core ab, total

i recently gave birth to a healthy boy, the blood bank told me that i need further testing for hcv which i dont know..on  my post partum check up, my OB explain me to me that it could be a false positive results, he ordered a hepa profile test...results hep b core ab total-reactive...is it possible to infect my baby and my husband? am i infected and contagious?

i should be asking my doctor but i cant wait to find out what to do...i cant see my doctor till next week...im breastfeeding, should i stop?

is very less % to infect to your baby in hep C.in hep B there is more chances to infect ur fetus. i think u should stop breast feeding unless u dont see the doctor. and u should get test ur husband and ur baby immediately....................

Even with a hep b core ab total reactive, it doesn't tell you much.  This result is indicative of a HepB infection but it doesn't tell you if it's a past or present one.  You could have had a past infection, cleared it, and are now immuned to it, that marker would be reactive.  Or if you currently have a chronic present infection, that marker again would be reactive.  So you need the other markers to know if you are infectious.

At this point in time, why not call and ask your OB if you should stop breastfeeding?  In general it should be okay.
