my results of hbv dna is 1000iu/ml or 5000 copies/ml my ALT = 60 what does it mean? very infectious?
im 23 yrs old i just found out i have hep when im positive of hbsag test last november 2009.

having alt 60 and hbvdna pos you have active hbv, you are always infectous even after hbsag negative so this question is not important, check your hbsag and also your hbeag if positive to have a clue if you have high chances of seroconversion on alinia and interferon

since you are young it is very important to get hbeag negative before 30yo (better prognosis for cirrohosis/liver cancer when you will be older) in case it is postive

interferon treatment or alinia can give the best results with hbe and hbs seroconversion (eradication of the virus), just follow our posts on alinia thread since this is probably the most potent and safest drug

antivirals are not recomended since they are not active on immune system and hbe seroconversion rates are low, hbsag seroconversion is even more rare, therapy is mainly for life at the moment so resistance and sides can be a big problem since you are so young
