Interpretation of Hep B test results
Hi and good morning
Can someone with the interpretation of my test results?
Hep B Surf Ag W/RFX confirm (Non Reactive)
Hep B Surface Antibody
Hep B Surface Ab result 3.52 <10.00 mIU/mL
Hep B Surface Ab Interpretation (Non Reactive)
Besides what has been noted above should i have any other tests performed to determine if i have been infected?

How long would it take for the infection to show positive after a possible exposure?
you dont need to test after exposure you go to pharmacy and have hbv vaccine or even hbv+immune globulins if you want even more protection but again hbv is a concern for pregnant mothers not for adults, the transmission cycle is from mother to child only in this cace chronicity is 90-95% cases because babies dont have immune system at birth or are infected as a fetus already

Stef2011 thank you for your reply. How long would it take for the infection to show positive after a possible exposure? I am planning on getting the vaccine ASAP so I wont have to worry about it anymore.

the chances of an adult become chronic carrier are as little as 3-4% or even less, i ve never seen good studies on this since the cases are so rare to make it impossible to have good studies, so you may even avoid vaccine if you are not exposed to hbv
