Transmition

Is it possible to transmit Hep B through door handles and sink taps...  I was at a Specialist where the person who used the bathroom before  me might of had Hep B... I washed my hands after, but later that night i saw myself bitting my nails/skin on my hand...  Do you think it is possible to catch it?  If it was just a random place then no, just curious because I was at this specialist and that person might of had it.  Or the person she was with.

Just a curiosity...

Its a long story but I was told by some walk in clinic who did not know what he was talking about that I had Hep B. I talked to my family Doctor and apparently I was already Immune when she tested in the summer.  I went to the specialist here and he said that there is no where on the results that say you have Hep B.  It says that you are Immune. Anyways I did another blood test to check for everything and hes checking for HSAG...

I went to the bathroom and there was a patient that used bathroom before me that I think could of had HEP B... Obviously they washed their hands and touched the door  handle... And I obviously touched all that... So it was just a curiosity.  Because I might not even have HEP B... I just know that I touched my hand to my mouth... I washed my hands though...But its still sketchy...

If im Immune... I dont think I can get Hep B anyways right?

The main transmission is obviously through bodily fluids, blood etc and if you have a cut.. But I dont think you can get it even if you touch a door handle after a person who had Hep B touched it and then your hand touches your mouth... Lets say if you wernt immune..

If you have the virus on your fingertips and you put your fingertips into your mouth then I'd say you could get hep b.

You can construct any scenario in your mind and make transmission possible using perfect circumstances.

The virus can live outside the body for a week. Knowing this I could dream up the most outlandish method of transmission ever conceived and it would be possible, just not probable. At some point it all becomes irrational.

I wonder if it was this kind of thought patterns that plagued Howard Hughs?

I am not medically trained but I had Hep. B and was told the virus can be transmitted through any body fluid; mucos, sylaiva, blood, sperm, urine, etc.  And seeing that Hep B is a virus I would think it could possibly get into your body thruoug a cut.  I am not sure how long the virus lives out of the body.  I would think it is possible but not likely....Hopefully someone with medical training will come across this post and be able to answer our question.  Thanks, Hey Jude.

Even if you dont wash your hands?  Im not worried about transmission through touching handles and that... Im just worried what if you had the germs on your skin of Hep B and you bite your nails or put your fingers in your mouth.
