occult? help

Hi

what does occult infection mean? would a person with high titres of Hepatitis B surface antibody >500.0 miu/ml and positive (total.) hepatitis b core antibody - along with Hep B. Surface Antigen - Negative -  be refferred to as occult?

You are totally immune to HBV 500 is high enough because cut off is normally 10. Presence of core antibody (IgG) signifies previous HBV infection that has cleared. You are immune to future HBV infections I guess for life...

so regardless of the positive(total) hep b. core antibody - negative surface antigen and surface antibody >500.0miu/ml

does it mean carrier? or NO HBV?

does it represent immunity ?

If you have high HBsAB and negative HBsAg, you don't have HBV.
