Taf would be useful keeping same tdf dose or higher although we still have to see if it has any difference at this dose because taf is tdf with just longer cellular halflife

I believe the goal for TAF was just that, reduce side effects of Bone Density Loss and Loss of Kidney Function. It's being tested on PLENTY of HBVers, me possibly being one of them. It's working and has been in clinical trial for many years now. It is in Phase III and as mentioned, is very close to being approved by FDA. I'll double check with my doctor to make sure this approval will be for Hep B as well. There was some study out there that said TAF may also reduce hbsag quicker than TDF (I believe this was 17 years?)

TAF will most likely be as affective as TDF for HIV, probably it will be the same for Hep B. If so that would be the best NUC available for us.
But like Steff said, we know that TDF works for 7-9 years without resistance, that will have yet to be proved for TAF and it will take years to be validated.

TAF is in phase III clinical trials. I know it has been submitted for approval to FDA for HIV, but not sure whether it has been submitted for approval for Hep B. Does anyone knows?

I hear from my hepatologist that TAF is able to surpress viral load with 1/10 the amount of nucs compared to TDF. This removes most of the side effects of TDF ranging from kidney, bone loss etc. My doctor is performing clinical trials, but I was an inactive carrier prior to them starting the trials.

What difference taf makes, just sides reduction, more like a new coloured lollipop in child's hand. This is wat happening with hbvers for past 50yrs since hbsag discovery.
Plan to produce taf is to make us hold it for next 10yrs.

Hi varsa? What do you want to know? It's not on the market yet. I am on a clinical trial to compare TAF vs. TDF but I do not know which one I am on as they don't tell you until week 96 (I'm at 72) before switching you to TAF on the trial for a year.

So far, I've had very minimal bone less (probably due to weight gain though) and no issues with kidneys. I suspect I've been on TDF the entire time but now I am going back to refill every 2 months instead of every month, and I suspect one month is TAF and one more is TDF. They might just be doing the testing on me.
