1) Did you have any symptoms before the ultrasound?
2) Do you have to have radiation or chemotherapy after the removal?
3) What was your lab readings like prior the surgery and after?
Thanks.
I am 54 and have had Chronic Hep B for 20+ years. Don't listen to stef2011 who called this post useless. It isn't! It seems to me you are looking for tips and encouragement and "proof" that it is possible to live a long, healthy, full life with this disease. IT IS!! To me, You have to do a few things "right".
1. Learn what you can about Hep B and stay on top of the advances and breakthroughs. If you have a PCP, it helps that he/she has as good a working knowedge of it and updated as their interest/time allows.\
2. Become the patient of a good hepatologist. The should monitor you eveyer 6 or 12 months, depending on how often you have had HebP. I would get a biopsy once a year (for sverall liver health, eso. cirrhosis and fattiness) and an ultrasound every six month (lookig for tumors/cysts)
3. Take good care of you livers.......I gave up alchohol, trued to keep fat intake as low as possible. I was on an anti-viral for years. Am going on Truvada net. At the very least you should be on that.
Three weeks a shadow showed up on an an ultrasound and a follow-up MRI. Was diagnosed with cancer. Had it removed. Am recovering nicely. I hope it never happens to you, but if it does, ASK QUESTONS about the surgery decision process, There are soooo many options and so many times the word "transplant" seems to be tossed around way too prematurely. Stay positive and let know if you have any questions or concerns.
Michael
so this post is rather useless
cronic hbv makes nothing, it is cirrhosis and liver cancer that kills but with compensated cirrhosis you can also go over 100 years and dye of other causes than hbv or liver.only liver cancer kills 100% if resection not possible and hbvdna detactable/high before resection
