I have been living with this Hep C for approx. 35 years., but i have only known i had it for about 14. Since then i have learned a lot but I am still asking questions and still without treatment, not that I don't need it. It's just it seems i have some complicating factors that are preventing me from getting the current treatment. Maybe soon they will have something more safe for someone like me and the problems i face. I have received some good answers here--and a few bad ones, but you will always get a better understanding by asking the questions that enter your mind. Just research the answers and before you know it, you will be well versed in this disease and all it's problems. Just ask some specific questions and someone will have some specific answers. you are not alone.
Ask whatever you like. When we were new here, we didn't know any of the answers either. It is my opinion that there isn't any such thing as a bad question.
What do you want to know?
People will always answer your questions here on HCV. We're not doctors, just people who have or did have HCV and are dealing with it or with treatment for it. We can share our opinions and our experiences in that way.
The politics and religion I believe you're referring to exists on the Current Events forum but not here. Those two topics are not allowed to be discussed here and with good reason.
Sometimes opinions on treatment or living with HCV can be directly opposite to each other and some discussions can get rather political in that regard. Discussions can get heated as a result. So those kinds of politics do exist. That's the human side of this place.
On the whole though, this forum offers good information and good support, you just have to do your part in sifting through the information to determine what works best for YOU and discuss those things with your doctor. Hopefully you have a competent medical team taking care of you. There's a broad range of people here so there's a good chance someone here has experienced something you have a question about. And there's a good chance someone will have a question you've had some experience with and that you'll have something to offer.
Hope that helps.
