just got my results from my 12 week lab and I'm UND...I'm in a BMS790052 Study...non responder 8 years ago...Type 1B...I know I have a ways to go before SVR but I'm encouraged to say the least.

Anyhow, didn't mean to hijack the thread wolfie. This drug had astounding results in Phase 1 trials. I think you're home free!

Again, a hearty congrats on your results.

"Lets see if we can switch   ..we are now tx.experienced !  :)"

We are, but they usually have a "cooling off period" before they would let you in I think... ie, you have to be off tx for awhile.

Also, I won't do another study if this one doesn't work, cause the two PI's will be out soon :-)

Actually, I just went back and checked. That trial does have a placebo arm, but only for prior non-responders. Null responders are guaranteed study drug.

There is also another study for those who failed prior treatment, buts it's that combo study with 790052/650032.

You know, speaking of tx naive vs. experienced... I've often wondered how a study would know anyhow what your status was?

"Sure, I'm treatment naive".

You had to be treatment experienced for the non-placebo study.

And congratulations!

It sounds like you choose a good trial with no placebo. I didn't realize they had a dosing only study for bms 790052. Good luck on the continued treatment and hopefully on to svr.

I am getting the BMS, the study is for dosage, either 20 or 60mg daily, no placebo.
They couldn't share which week I became und, I guess at the end of the study they will release that information. But I suspect it was early on as my Alt went from 180 to 40 the 1st 2 weeks.
The treatment for the BMS is 24 weeks with the Interferon and Rib lasting 48 weeks.

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts...

Pam, you are right, elated is a good word to describe how I feel...I've had several people ask me, why are you smiling????

Glad to hear the good news. I guess we don't know if your getting bms or soc and what week you actually did become und, but either way your responding well so that's great news.
Do they tell you at this point how long you will be treating for? If I remember correctly your response determines your treatment length to some extent. I don't really know the details though.

A very hearty congratulations on the und,

Congrats to you!!

It is good to hear about someone in this particular study having a good early result. Do I understand correctly that if you were a prior non-responder that you would be guaranteed to recv.one of the doses of the study drug?

Best of luck..the rest of the way.
