Hi Albany, good to hear from you. If you're still going, I take it you cleared? Can I ask what week?
Here's a link to information on Eprex: www.hc-sc.gc.ca/dhp-mps/medeff/advisories-avis/prof/2007/aranesp_eprex_hpc-cps_e.htm
That last part says html. I'm gathering it's the Canadian equivalent of a drug like procrit and it's for treating anemia brought on by the treatment drugs you're taking. A fellow I know who lives near me and is on HCV treatment is also on Eprex.
What are your HGB levels at these days?
Take care.
Trish
thanks guys- i followed that link, and googled some more stuff- and true it IS procrit CDN style. so ...anyone else have to take this? says something about not driving, my nurse didn't mention any side effects other than feeling 'better' in a few weeks. man- is it soon over?
I'll ask the fellow I know who's taking this about his side effects and get back to you. What I know is that he's still working and it has made the difference for him because his hemoglobin dropped quite a bit. So here's hoping it will help you feel better too.
Trish
thanks ..i have not noticed much from the eprex... still tired.
But on top of getting the call about Hemoglobin being low (and i cannot recolelect how low, i think 97) i got a call this week saying that my thyroid is"out o whacj" and high...so off to the lab armed with more requisitions, and hopefully NOT more meds once the results are in.
I'll be interested to know about your thryroid. I was just talking to my friend and he's in rough shape right now ... at a bad spot at about 31 weeks. He said he gets no bad effects from the eprex, just that the needle hurts when he takes it. It's the only thing he's got going to keep his hgb from going lower. Now he's got other issues going on and one of them possibly thyroid. Stay in touch, Albany. Have been wondering how you're doing.
Hang in there.
Trish
