High ALT (GPT) and Rash

I have had fluctuating liver enzymes for the 13 months, most recent ALT (GPT) is at 132!!! (Normal is 10-37). I have also had itching and rashes on different parts of my body during this same period, mostly on my upper body, hands and sides (below the armpits), although ocassionally on my inner thighs and ankles as well. The rash on the hands is usually red and slightly burning. I also have a slightly low lymphocyte count [19.4% (normal is 22%-43%)].

None of my doctors (PCP, Dermatologist, Allergist) have been able to figure out what i have...ultrasound showed all internal organs to be normal, hepatitis tests came back negatve, yet the constantly elevated liver enzymes and slightly low lymphocyte count, together with the rash and itching, has me concered.

Any suggestions?

Hi I am new to this forum. I am also hep c +. I have had a rash on ny neck and the sides of my face and my back. The rash showed up after I was tested +. Some days it gets real light and you can't see it , and some days you really see it usually after I get hot and or sweaty. I usually use oatmeal lotion.  I think the oatmeal lotion works good for the dryness and itching. My doc told me that some hep c patients develop a rash and some don't. Just keep it clean and don't scratch it just makes it worse.  It also has to do with your nerves too. The more you are stressed the more your body reponds to making your rash worse. I know we can't be stress free, so when you get stressed out take a few deep breaths. I also went through shot therapy about 4 years ago and I agree it sucks. I have also develped neuropathy in my legs recently. Sorry this was long so back to the rash. Like I said a good oatmeal lotion. I also use an oatmeal soap or Dove Nutrium, followed by lotion.  Good luck.
