Alpha liopic acid

I am 43 and very healthy all except when I turned 29 my pancreas stopped producing insulin. I've been on an insulin pump since then and keep in excellent control. My question is has any one ever had my problem and took alpha liopic acid interveinsly. and made your pancreas start producing insulin?

If your pancreas stopped producing insulin entirely, that means you have Type 1 diabetes.  There is no cure for that at this time.  Many of us diabetics take alpha lipoic acid to prevent neuropathy.  Also, there is some indication that ALA can help lower your glucose levels.  Although nothing can reverse the destruction of the beta cells in your pancreas, ALA is a very helpful supplement for most diabetics.  I recommend you go to google groups and look for alt.support.diabetes and/or misc.health.diabetes.  They're both excellent groups/forums with people who can provide you with good advice (although be careful of some of the spammers who promote stevia and other useless products - always check out new info with www.quackwatch.com if you have any doubts).

Hi,
Most of us have Hep C and a few have hep B, so there may not be anyone who would be able to answer you, but then again I don't know everyone on forum and what other health issues they have, if any. If you don't receive an answer you may want to check out another forum.

wish you the best.
