I was just speaking about Peg/Ribavirin. Triple therapy evens the odds, but still includes Peg/Ribavirin and additional $ as well.
Success rate is about equal now between all genotypes. But the new treatment is considerably more difficult from what I can see.
Means you are a lucky fellow (relatively, anyway, as if anyone with HCV could be considered lucky)! The most common genotype in the USA is genotype 1, which is much more difficult to treat. Many have tried and about half have failed. The success rate for treatment with pegylated interferon and ribavirin is around 80% for genotype 2 pateints.
Good luck!
Same as mine Genotype! So far the easiest one to eradicate. It is a type typical in Europe, google it and you can find more info.
