some hair loss is common. I think women find it more difficult because we are more invested in our hair. Some people have more hair loss then others, it comes back after tx. Of all the sx, I find it the least troubling for me. I would take bald for more energy.
I also use a hair oil once a day, and I do use a wide tooth comb which also gets to my scalp. Feels good, but only 2x day. The information from the drug company cautions against brushing too much, so I don't. I wash my hair 1x week.
Is hair loss a big side on tx?
Hi ,
thanks for these good tips on hair breakage. Hair dryness and breakage can be a problem especially on tx.
I'm not so sure that not brushing your hair is such a good thing though.. brushing your scalp and hair brings better blood circulation to the scalp and hair follicles that need the nourishment. I would recommend soft kinda gente brush or gently massage your scalp, might help get some of your natural oils thru the ends of the hair. I know how dry and brittle mine felt on tx and I started out with normal to oily hair but by the third month I was dry and brittle, I think stimulating the oil glands and follicles is something I would do or the dryness could become even worse over time..
Good tips, I'll do the satin thing next time when I tx ,again.
